Cleopatra, ruler from history, seductress in Handel's baroque opera Giulio Cesare, today a symbol of pop culture. Her story was filmed, told in comics and her style is copied - Beyoncé, Cardi B and Lizzo wear her headpieces, Uma Thurman a Cleopatra bob in Pulp Fiction. The ancient Egyptian queen is an oversized projection screen for clichés, cultural appropriation and empowerment. BERLIN MOVES explores this field of tension around the numerous Cleopatra art figures with artistic director and choreographer Lior Shneior, motion capture, and a team of programmers and 3D designers through dance and virtually. A journey from Egypt through pop culture into the eternity of the internet.
